How can I know God?
This is the most important question you will ever ask. You will find these short video clips helpful in answering that question. Do write in and let us know how you get on with them.
How can we know God? Is being a Christian about getting the formula right - or about a relationship with God?
My brother Ken, told me about an exciting book he is reading by Donald Miller. It sounded so good that I asked him to write a brief review and I have supplied a link so you can purchase the book if you wish. Here is the review:
Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller
If an alien came to earth and had to report back about what people on this planet are like, what would he say? According to Donal
d Miller in his book 'Searching for God Knows What' he would point out that humans are constantly engaged in the futile pursuit of comparing themselves to one another. Donald Miller believes that, because we have rejected God who would help us feel loved and important, we are looking for this assurance from each other. He cites the classic illustration of people adrift in a lifeboat and one needs to be thrown overboard to save the others - on what basis would that person be chosen?
'The Christian faith can be summarised as a series of points and the Gospel message is often presented as a few bullet points. All very good but Donald Miller believes these miss the fact that becoming a Christian is essentially entering into a relationship with Jesus, and through Him, with God. This is the central message of this book, which is presented in a very readable and often entertaining style. I found it a very enjoyable and encouraging read.
